Indian Poverty Line (IPL- 3)

IPL matches are in full swing and we can see the excitement all over India. Why should’nt it be so, Cricket is a religion in this country. IPL is the baby of Indian Cricket which is always surrounded by controversies and I have no intention to add one more. I still remember, one of my friends asked me once, who’s the Agriculture minister of India, when I told him, its Sharad Pawar, he did’nt believe. Because like millions of Indians he too believes that Mr. Pawar is the President of BCCI. Suceess of IPL is as big as the Inflation and the farmer suicide graph in this country. People are so crazy about this game, that no one realizes the basic issues pertaining to Indians.

I am not a professional writer nor have written thousands of articles; still I can say this one is toughest I have ever written. Why? Coz its tough if you write something that’s against the belief of millions of people. Neither do I oppose the game nor IPL, but its always difficult to express your views which are against the mind-set of majority.
You may not agree with me on this but you should think about it.

Writing on this issue is tougher since I too love the game. But this time I will not watch the IPL matches because its my way of showing a silent protest against the Agriculture minister who is only concentrating on the Business of Cricket and is not even bothered to take any step to stop the farmer suicide cases increasing day by day. The government has always tried to underplay the cases of farmer deaths and have shown the conservative figures. National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) stated that there were atleast 16,196 farmers' suicides in India in 2008 alone, and a total of 199,132 since 1997. In last 15 days more than 30 farmers have committed suicide in Yavatmal (Maharashtra). You may be surprised to know that Maharashtra leads in the farmer suicide cases and it’s the same state from where our BCCI President Mr. Pawar was elected, oops, it’s the Agriculture minister.

I am a computer geek so I always look at the logic beyond the problem and the related problems as well. In a way, farmer’s poor condition is forcing them to join/support Naxalism. Govt should take out some time from Cricket to solve this problem.
I know my protest against IPL will not make any difference to the Business of IPL but yes, if you all would join me in this protest, we can try to change the condition of millions of poor farmers.

Congress ka haath nahi Kisi ke sath: Budget Special

One of the most awaited Budget came out as a mixed bag. There are a few positives but serveral negative aspects. It is positive from personal point of view; as change in tax slabs means more money in my bank account. I can't resist myself from appriciating couple of points about this budget like the 15% increase in education spending and fiscal deficit came down to 5.5% from 6.7% last year. Increasing the funds for education system means taking a strong step towards prosperous India; because future of this country lies in the hands of youngsters.
Let’s look at the aspect of this Budget that may distrub your sleep.Almost 100% people pay the tax in this country directly or indirectly including the people who hardly eat once in a day, still the government is hungry to impose lots of taxes with different names. Most of these names are not understandable by millions of people in this country. Congress always claims to be the Aam-aadmi ki sarkar (Govt. of poor people) so it might be a part of the effort from govt to make the more people poorer in this country by increasing the prices of Petrol / Diesel.
Do I need to mention that the rise in Petrol and diesel prices will hurt each and every one of us right from poor farmers to the middle class?. Driving to my work place has become more expensive. It may force me to use bicycle to commute but could be a great excuse to impress my Boss, who always uses cycle just to do his bit towards saving the enviroment. I was expecting that the FM will take some decision to curb the inflation; he did, but to rise.
As far as the industrial growth is concerned, everyone agrees including PM and FM himself that, it’s in consolidation phase. On one hand, govt. hiked MAT to 18% from existing 15% and the excise duty has gone up by 2% for all classes of goods while inflation is still a big concern for the industry; still our govt is chasing the dream of 8-9 % growth. How is it possible is not understandable. When economy is going through the recovery phase govt. wants to take back stimulus packages. However, govt had given around 0.5% of GDP as stimulus package whereas USA had given 5% of their GDP to stimulus packages.
We may need to think twice to come to a conclusion about this budget whether it’s supporting industry or aam-aadmi or is it simply a routine budget coz our FM had to present one?

Would appreciate your opinion on this Budget?

F**K for freedom of Speech (3F of Speech)

I still remember that day when I was in college preparing for the C++ test that was scheduled next day. It was the day when the world had shook with horror, it chaged the life of millions of people and it changed the world geography forever. Yes, it was the black day 9/11. it had great impact on my life too. After 9/11 we came to know the untold horror story of Taliban. After that sad incident i exacatly understood the meaning of Democracy, human rights and freedom of speech.
Today when I see are politicians, media, & Bollywood people speak whatever comes in their mind without even bothering about the impact those words cause.I desparately want to say F**k the freedom of speech from this county for atleast 10-15 years.
There are politicans who dare to speak against the court’s order to take the political mileage and there is nothing to stop them, there is a politician who is busy to build her own statues with the money of tax payers. Recently we have seen even bollywoods actors making controversial comments to get the publicity for theirs movies. It is ridiculous to think the politicians will take moral responsibility and stop making such comments that hurts the sentiments of millions of people; so we should have some law that imposes this.

Sena Vs SRK

There has been quite a strong storm over IPL! Do I need to tell you what is IPL???
Why is there so much noise just because there are no Pak players being included in the IPL team??
I strongly believe that it was franchisee owners’ decision, its not the Congress govt. who takes all decisions based on Religion, Caste etc.
SRK The king of Bollywood desparetly wants the Pakistani players to be part of IPL, why is this so - because Pakistan always spread terrorism in our country, circulate fake currencey in our country or is it that SRK wants to become the face of Pakistan?
People from Pakistan have criticised the decision of IPL; that means they have unity among them; on the other side we Indians are crying why Pakistani palyerers are not playing. Is cricket bigger than the National interest? Let me remind you Mr. SRK, Bharat is the country where you were born, studied, & earned all the limelight that you enjoy today. Bharat has made you what you are today. How could you forget the Mumbai attacks? Do you want your movie to be watched only in Pakistan?
I may not agree with Shiv Sena on all the points they raise, but when it comes to National interest, we must appreciate them.Sena is the only party which came forward when SRK supported our arch rival.
I knew lots of liberal people will raise the finger; that we should not club sports with politics. If we really want to segregate sports from politics, first we need to remove all such politicians who are holding the top most positions in the Games committees in India.
Most of the Indian media became judgemental and they already given the judgement about SRK & they have succeeded in making him a real life hero. Do you agree??

After 26/11: Where are we?

I am not feeling sleepy today eventhough the watch showing the time as 12:30AM (26/11) keeps ticking forward. I am very scared, upset and disappointed. I can’t stop my brain from thinking about the horrible 26/11 atttack last year. I still remember, I had completed my telecon at office and came back home; I was about to reach home when i got a call from my friend who asked me to switch on the news channel. When I saw news, I couldn’t believe that all the channels were broadcasting the same news. That day when i slept in the night the last scene was that of Mr Karkare wearing the killing jacket and the next day when I switched on my TV I saw the news flashing about his death. I started crying, it was like something had happened to a family member. Now, in the middle of the night; all those incidents are again visualing in front of me.

I am wondering if the same sort of attack can happen anytime and anywhere in Bharat?
Today we complete the ONE year of cowardice and impotency of our great government.

Yeappy!! We have completed one year of begging to our great neighbour country Pak and our Mai-Baap America. Have you noticed, that after every horrible incident our government starts begging to Pakistan - plz don’t do this, plz don’t do that. And asking America - plz ask Pakistan to stop this, pls ask Pakistan to stop that. Has our government taken any decision any time except begging?
Our yougesters, government & education system all are trying to mimic America in all aspects, so why don’t we learn how to handle terrorism from America and Israel? Is our government impotent or is it the Muslim vote bank politcs?
For the last one year our government has been asking Pakistan to put the culprits behind the bar, but our government has done nothing to Kasab till date; forget about other masterminds behind this attack. Its unbelievable that we have every proof, all the CCTV footage; still out judiciary system hasn’t come to any conclusion. If our judicial system is so weak and the process dragging for so long; we must come forward and change it.
Don’t we also share the same responsiblity as our government? Just after 6-8 months of the attack, we got the chance to change the government but we selected the same government AGAIN.. Why??? Are we waiting for another attack ???
I would appreciate your comments

Hats off to Congress

Before starting this blog, I would like to make it clear that I am not supporting any political party or their wings.
Congress ka haath, garibo ke saath. It means, whenever farmers and poor people are commiting suicide; Congress ka haath will always support them. Congress knows that the opposition party is going to raise the point of farmer suicide, rising prices, Koda (who became the kodh of economy) etc.; the Liberhan Committee report was leaked to Media and the media has responded in the way Congress was expecting them to; so they have easily distracted the attention of people from other bigger issues like farmer suicides & price rise. I am wondering if BJP is a Hindu supporting party, but I am sure Congress has been an anti-Hindu party. Please stop dividing the people of this country by digging up the past.
I would appreciate your comments
